synopsis

Millions of people witnessed Emma Taylor’s first kiss—a kiss that needed twelve takes and four camera angles to get right. After spending nearly all of her teen years performing on cue, Emma wonders if any part of her life is real anymore . . . particularly her relationships.

Jake Elliott’s face is on magazine ads around the world, but his lucrative modeling deals were a poor substitute for what he had to leave behind. Now acting is offering Jake everything he wants: close proximity to home; an opportunity to finally start school; and plenty of time with the smart and irresistible Emma Taylor . . . if she would just give him a chance.

When Jake takes Emma behind the scenes of his real life, she begins to see how genuine he is, but on-set relationships always end badly. Don’t they? Toss in Hollywood’s most notorious heartthrob and a resident diva who may or may not be as evil as she seems, and the production of Coyote Hills heats up in unexpected—and romantic—ways.

This novel in the deliciously fun If Only romance line proves that the best kinds of love stories don’t follow a script.

bookstorefeels

Not in the Script made me swoon SO much. Jake is one of my fave fictional boyfriends right now. Gaaaaah, he’s such a babe. He’s not perfect but he’s worth my time and effort. *grins like an idiot* *still swoons over Jake* 😛
Alright, the book itself talked about the Hollywood feels of some artists. Artists really look awesome and stunning in front of the camera. They need to do everything to impress the audience. On the other hand, it doesn’t mean that if a person looks good on cam, he/she also looks good off cam. If you’re a fan of Hollywood stars, this book is for you! Some of your questions about Hollywood might be answered by this book.
Another thing that I really loved about this book is the friendship + relationship circle. Even Hollywood stars have friends. Everyone has friends. Of course, these stars also have crushes. Cliché? Not a problem to me. As long as the story catches my attention, I’ll read it until the very last page. I’ll cherish every single word.
Emma Taylor is the kind of character who’s very adorable. She’s relatable and it’s very easy to like her. She’s a TRUE teenager. This is what you call teenage normalcy. This is the kind of book I’m looking for. All of the characters were teenagers with teenage feelings. Plus, they’re all likable. Have I said that enough? The development of the characters was almost perfect. Every time I flipped the pages of this book, it felt like there were butterflies floating around me. Plus, I badly wanted to squeal. I just can’t. I’m so happy I was able to finish reading this before September ends. XD
Amy Finnegan’s writing will definitely catch the attention of teenagers. It’s perfect for teenagers and fangirls. SO WONDERFUL. ❤
