At sixteen Nash thought that the fight to become Head Girl of prestigious boarding school Bathory would be the biggest battle she’d face. Until her brother’s disappearance leads to Nash being trapped at the school over Christmas with Bathory’s assorted misfits. As a blizzard rages outside, strange things are afoot in the school’s hallways, and legends of the mysterious Beast of Bathory – a big cat rumoured to room the moors outside the school – run wild. Yet when the girls’ Matron goes missing it’s clear that something altogether darker is to blame – and that they’ll have to stick together if they hope to survive.

Monster MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS IN a rollercoaster ride! It’s definitely one of my favorites this year. Yup, add it to your TBR now, people. You wouldn’t want to miss this book. Aside from the cover itself, the story was GREAT!
First of all, let me just tell you that I’m a huge fan of paranormal/thriller YA books (and horror films, just so you know). I really love creepy stories but I’m a coward myself. It depends actually on the story
Let’s talk about the book now before I blurb something about myself. xD
How does it feel to be trapped in a single room? How does it feel when you don’t know what’s around you? Basically, the plot of this book is simple. Very simple. Did I tell you that the twists made it more amazing and creepier? Stuff got weirder after every chapter. And BOOM. I don’t know how CJ Skuse did it but she knows my paranormal/ thriller YA taste. Everything sounded real. The story was gripping that I wasn’t able to eat my lunch because the story was intense. I was able to finish reading this book even though I was doing a ton of projects. This book is perfect for me. I need more books from CJ Skuse, to be honest.
“Who is the monster?” I thought I know who the monster is. I thought it was very obvious. I was totally wrong. Do you want to know who the monster is? Well, read the book. Let me just leave you a quote, “Trust no one except yourself.”
P.S. CJ Skuse is a UKYA author. It was my first time reading a book written by a UKYA author. She definitely did not disappoint me. Not at all.

THIS BOOK DESERVES 5+ MONSTROUS STARS!!!
